City of Asbury Park
At the March 25 Council meeting, the City announced that March Associates Construction, Inc., the contractor originally expected to complete the work, had decided not to be the contractor on the project. MAR advised the City that it would proceed expeditiously to engage an alternate contractor.
Tonight, the Mayor and City Council voted to approve a resolution authorizing an addendum to the Boardwalk Preservation Fund Sub Grant Agreement with Madison Asbury Retail, LLC (MAR), with Pullman SST, Inc. named as the incoming contractor and Michael Graves Architecture serving as construction manager.

Asbury Park UEZ Proposes Return Of Jazz Festival
On the heels of adopting an updated 5-Year Urban Enterprise Zone Development Plan in Asbury Park three initiatives are being discussed to help drive economic growth.
On the agenda: Asbury Park Jazz Festival FY2026: With a project request of $125,000, the city plans to host the Asbury Park Jazz Festival in the UEZ area. This event aims to attract new consumers and support the merchant community, further establishing Asbury Park as a cultural hotspot.

Art Club on Asbury’s Boardwalk Offers Creatives a Community
“We’re building an art community for people who are looking for creativity in their life,” says Meagg E. Moon, co-founder of the Art Club, Asbury Park’s newest creative collective on the street side of the boardwalk at 1100 Ocean Avenue. Part gallery, part workshop with adjoining art studios, the space might be best described as an art cafe.
Bruce Springsteen Center to Open June-7 with concert
The Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music at Monmouth University is proud to announce a multi-act, two-night concert event celebrating America’s 250th birthday.
Called Music America: The Songs that Shaped Us, the concerts will take place on June 4 and 5 at the OceanFirst Bank Center on the Monmouth campus, just prior to the grand opening of the new Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music on June 7. This will be a major contribution to the national commemoration of America’s semiquincentennial and the cornerstone of the Springsteen Center’s grand opening celebrations.
